The story<\/h4>\n

Tourcoing, France, 1900. H\u00e9lo\u00efse is just emerging from childhood as a new century dawns in Europe. Already, the advent of electricity, the beginnings of cinema, the recent prototypes of airplanes and automobiles, the opening of the first subway in Paris and the invention of the telephone are being celebrated. In short, the coming years promise to be exciting and Heloise intends to make the most of them. Raised in a family that specializes in piano and organ building, she works hard to demonstrate her various talents and dedication in order to participate in the innovative businesses led by her brothers. But H\u00e9lo\u00efse also follows another path, that of her heart, which leads her to the arts, poetry and the hope of a great love. It is the words she fills her notebooks that will give her the strength to move forward in the darkest hours of her life marked by the First World War and the Great Depression… [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1620658252593{margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”]<\/p>\n

Highlights of the novel<\/h4>\n

Heloise is the story of a young woman who is looking for her place in an era made up of opportune circumstances, but also of great sacrifice and deprivation. A period that the author brings to life in its smallest details thanks to a meticulous research work.<\/p>\n

More than a literary work, this novel inspired by real-life events is a page of history that recounts the life of the author’s great-aunt, a marketing pioneer at the beginning of the twentieth century, at the dawn of a revolution that is still awaited, that of women.

Approach<\/h4>\n

My childhood was filled with the passionate accounts of my father’s industrial adventure, leading from the manufacture of pianos and organs to the invention of the electronic organ. Instead of focusing on the technical aspects of the family\u2019s journey through the industrial revolution, I chose to tell this story from a woman’s point of view. I took the voice of H\u00e9lo\u00efse who fought to be able to work in her brothers’ business and ultimately dedicated her life to it. The point of view of a woman serves to humanize the story and give it a universal value. To tell the story of my heroine, I used some autobiographical elements to fill in the less documented passages, following the way I would have approached the situation in her place.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1619455259976{margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”]<\/p>\n
